Banarasi tanchoi silk tunic in a deep turquoise blue tone adorned with gold badla zari detailing and potli buttons. The rich texture of the fabric is paired with a beige gold kora stole hand embroidered in miniature motifs. It is worn with blue cotton silk pants. Tanchoi silk originated in China and found its way to India through Parsi traders who loved the soft and luxurious silk. The extra weft threads of tanchoi are woven simultaneously with the primary weft and thus cannot be separated from the ground weave, creating a smooth texture.
